Costa Rica - Day 1

The team arrived in Costa Rica Saturday afternoon to a rainy day so we all decided to get some food at the sandwich stop outside the airport and eat from the bus. It was our first exposure to the language barrier, to the currency exchange, and to the flexibility that comes with a mission trip… we were ready!!

The 3 hour bus ride to the Mission trip HQ was a beautiful route through winding mountains, lush landscape, and tiny pockets of houses stacked into cliffs. We took in a bit of the scenery, then all fell asleep for most of the drive to make up for such a long day.

We settled into our bunks, met the people from the other groups here at the same time, had a great dinner together on site, Lynn & Karen led a touching devotional about how their daughters were the pebbles that started a ripple that led to them both joining for this trip, and we all discussed some of our observations from the day, then got in bed excited for the week ahead!!
