In-person programs have been canceled until Wednesday at 5 PM at each of the church’s locations, with the exception of recovery meetings, backpack stuffing for school partners, and the food pantry at Overland Park, which will each continue as scheduled.
The church will reopen on Wednesday at 5 pm for all scheduled programs.
This experience is designed to teach children and families the importance of justice, kindness, and standing up for what’s right. The principles that Dr. King dedicated his life to. Through age-appropriate activities and projects (suitable for Pre-K and up), your children will have the opportunity to learn and grow while making a positive impact in our community.
As part of the event, we will show a very short video to provide historical context about Dr. King’s life and work. The video does mention that Dr. King was shot and killed, and we wanted to make you aware of this in advance.
As part of our justice initiative, we will be collecting gently used children’s books to provide the gift of reading to children in our community.
We cannot wait to see you and your family on January 20th at your Resurrection location! Together, we’ll reflect on Dr. King’s legacy and work to carry his vision forward in our community.
