Due to inclement weather, all daytime in-person programs have been canceled for Thursday, Feb. 9 at each of our locations and the cafe and bookstore at the Leawood location are closed until 5 pm. Evening programs will be held, as scheduled.
We are watching the weather and at this time the Car Show is still on as scheduled for the public, open from 9:00 am – 1:00 pm. We will keep you updated as conditions change.
Are you prepared to Vote on November 7?
What issues are going to impact the daily lives of voters for the next few years? On November 7, voters have the chance to determine who will represent them in the City Council and Local School Board!
City Councils are a highly important but often overlooked governing body that identifies service and project priorities for the community such as affordable housing, zoning regulations, and road pavement. They also determine state and Congressional legislative priorities.
Local School Boards develop the annual budget to run the school system, hire and evaluate the superintendent, and set school policies such as history curriculum and what books school libraries can stock.
Local election winners are sometimes determined by less than 100 votes! Don’t give your power to someone who may not have the same priorities as you do but who makes the time to vote.
October 17 is the last day you can register to vote. If you’ve moved within the last year or your name has changed you must register again.
