Due to weather conditions, all in-person daytime and evening programs have been canceled across the church’s locations for Wednesday, except for the Recovery programs and Food Pantry at Overland Park. Decisions for Thursday daytime programs will correspond with local school district decisions and will be posted on the church’s website.
Scheduled programming has resumed for Thursday, February 13 at all Resurrection locations.
¡Hola!
We hope you are doing well! We sure are!
Today we started with a breakfast consisting of tortillas with cheese, eggs, and cantaloupe, and it was delicious!
Afterwords, we drove to Ciudad Espana and spent our first day at the Juan Wesley School and Church. The first thing we did was participate in worship with the church community at Juan Welsey UMC. Worship consisted of many songs (including some we knew from back home in the US), a message from Pastor Hector about “With God everything is Possible”, and some beautiful dances by the children.
We then had a time of fellowship, followed by an amazing lunch with our sponsor students from the Juan Wesley school.
After some amazing time spent with each of our students, we headed out to Walmart to grab some supplies for the week, and then back to the Mission House to prepare. We had a very delicious dinner of pork chops, potato salad, and rice, and then finished our day with devotions.
We are all very excited to have our first day of classes tomorrow with all of the students at the Juan Wesley School!
Buenos Noches!
