Day 1

Blog  day 1…..

What a great team we have!  Our team of 11 certainly has learned to adapt and embrace change and uncertainty as we learned our outbound flight was cancelled the day before travel.   Through many additional changes, re-routes, questions about luggage, splitting then re-uniting the team, etc, we are finally about to land at Entebbe airport in Kampala, Capital of Uganda.  It is now 2:40 am so we have been en route for 26+ hours.   Rudy adeptly and calmly worked through all the details, keeping us informed along the way and focused on the great week we are about to experience.  Kudos to Rudy for his persistence and great leadership.

On our second flight, Sydney, on her first international flight, was called into action to assist with a medical issue a passenger was having.   She handled it so calmly, the cardiologist she later learned was sitting nearby had full confidence all was under control.

The team is looking forward to a bit of rest tonight before we start our itinerary tomorrow!   Still one question before the night is over… will our checked luggage arrive?  We think it might be a day late… but we have all our essentials with us so we’ll be ready to roll either way!
