Fourth Grade Serve Milestone

Jan. 19 | Outside the Walls | Feb. 1 Inside the Walls

Jan. 19, 2026
All locations

Our 4th graders are ready to take their next big step in faith through the beautiful milestone of Serving! This January, we’re kicking off with a special MLK weekend of service on January 19, where 4th graders and their grown-ups will work side-by-side at designated community service projects designed just for our families. Then on Sunday, February 1, we’ll celebrate this milestone in worship as our 4th graders officially step into serving roles right here at church—from greeting families with warm smiles to helping with communion, ushering, and supporting our tech arts team. This milestone marks an exciting transition as our kids discover the joy that comes from using their gifts to serve others.

Jan. 19 | Serve Outside the Walls | 10 AM to Noon | Leawood location

Designated site specifically for 4th graders and their families on MLK serve day. Together, kids and their adults will assemble warmth kits, pack meal bags, and learn how we can care for our unhoused neighbors through the coldest months of the year. This hands-on experience for adults to serve alongside their 4th grader is a fun, meaningful, and a powerful way to show kids that their compassion can make a real impact. Register for the MLK day of serving HERE.

Feb. 1 | Serve Inside the Walls | During Worship at each location

4th Graders and their grown-up signing up to serve in various places at each location (ushers, greeters, communion serving, tech arts, etc.). Registration for serving Inside the Walls by clicking the button below!
