Sunday, February 8, our regular 5 pm worship service at Leawood will begin at 4 pm.
Scheduled programming has resumed for Thursday, February 13 at all Resurrection locations.
Summer may still be a few months away, but we’re already gearing up for a fantastic Vacation Bible Camp the week of July 12 for kids in kindergarten through 5th grade. This year’s theme is GOAL, Go Out And Love, which fits perfectly since Kansas City is hosting the World Cup this summer. It’s going to be a great week of games, music, activities, and making new friends, with morning and evening sessions available to fit your family’s schedule. Volunteer registration opens today, and one of the perks of serving is that volunteers get first access to register their own kids or grandkids before public registration opens on March 15. Spots fill up fast, so click the button below to learn more.
This week, we’re highlighting the many ways Resurrection comes alongside people during life’s challenging seasons. We provide counseling support, facilitate recovery groups, coordinate care ministries, and walk with people through difficult times. You’ll find information about support groups addressing grief, addiction, mental health, and other life transitions, as well as opportunities to submit care or prayer requests for yourself or someone you love. If you’ve ever wondered how to volunteer as a Congregational Care Minister or get involved in supporting others, our care teams are available to answer questions and help you find a meaningful way to serve. Whether you’re looking for support or seeking out ways to serve, click the button below to learn more about the resources and opportunities available through Resurrection’s Care Ministry.
We’re partnering with American Public Square to host a conversation about maintaining connection across the political divide. On Thursday, February 19, at 6 pm in the Sanctuary, Pastor Adam will moderate a discussion with Dr. Jeanne Safer, psychotherapist and author of I Love You, But I Hate Your Politics, and her husband, historian Richard Brookhiser—a couple who’ve built a life together despite holding different political beliefs. They’ll share practical insights on navigating disagreements with family members, friends, coworkers, and neighbors without sacrificing the relationship. If you’re struggling to talk politics with someone you care about or simply want to understand how to stay curious rather than combative when beliefs collide, this program offers real strategies for preserving trust and connection in polarized times. Childcare will be offered. To register for childcare and learn more about the event, click the button below.

Join Pastor Robert Johnson for two powerful immersion trips that trace the sacred and sobering events shaping America’s journey toward justice. In March, explore Tulsa’s Greenwood District and the Osage Nation. In November, travel from Little Rock to Memphis, where ordinary people made extraordinary choices during the Civil Rights Movement. These aren’t tours—they’re pilgrimages designed to challenge and change us through guided reflection, prayer, and conversation, equipping us to love boldly and serve courageously today.
UPDATE: The Human Rights trip to Tulsa and the Osage Nation is now full.
