Ash Wednesday services at all Resurrection locations will be held on schedule today.
Scheduled programming has resumed for Thursday, February 13 at all Resurrection locations.
Join Professor Brendon Benz for “The Code and The Cross,” a three-week class exploring one of Jesus’ most significant statements: “I have come not to abolish the law but to fulfill it” (Matthew 5:17). Starting September 16 at Church of the Resurrection Downtown (6:30-8 pm), we’ll examine how ancient Torah actually shaped Jesus’ life and ministry, and investigate the often surprising ways he interpreted and lived out God’s law. Professor Benz, Theologian-in-Residence at William Jewell College, will help us understand the function of biblical legal codes and their connection to the meaning of the cross. Through careful study of Scripture and historical context, you’ll gain fresh insight into familiar passages and discover how Jesus’ approach to the law was both faithful and revolutionary. This class is designed for anyone wanting to deepen their understanding of how the Old and New Testaments work together.
