In-person programs have been canceled until Wednesday at 5 PM at each of the church’s locations, with the exception of recovery meetings, backpack stuffing for school partners, and the food pantry at Overland Park, which will each continue as scheduled.
The church will reopen on Wednesday at 5 pm for all scheduled programs.
Connect with fellow Resurrection online worshippers in your area through our new Geo Groups – monthly in-person gatherings across the U.S. Led by volunteer Guides, these local groups focus on either social activities (sharing meals, attending events), community service projects, or a combination of both. Browse available groups and register by January 30 to join members in your area.
Jesus called us to be the light of the world- to share our gifts with others so we may bring a little peace and healing presence to others. Join us as we gather together to share joys and concerns, and mutually decide where we want to serve together in-person. Our primary purpose is to serve, but as we grow together, we may add a social component. The planning and “get to know you meetings” will be on Zoom, and our serve opportunities will be in-person. May the Light shine as we journey together! (Matthew 5:16)
Groups are an important way we find community and grow in our faith. As human beings, we want to be known and to do good things in and for the world. Groups invite each person to a journey that intentionally fosters connection, growth, purpose, and service. We are opening our ears to hear and our hearts to receive direction in providing social and service needs by doing all the good we can, by all the means we can, in all the ways we can while fostering connection, growth, purpose, and service. (There is an open co-leader role for this group. Email online@cor.org if you’re interested in co-leading.)
Come join us in serving the city of Cincinnati and making some new friends at the same time. Once we get to know each other, we will search for serving opportunitie that align with our collective passions.
I have attended church (mainly UMCs) my whole life in-person. When COVID and other life circumstances interupted that pattern, my wife Betsy and I became Resurrection online members. Each time ‘Serve Saterday’ rolls around, I am reminded how satisfying it would be to have a local group to meet and serve with. Just to know that we are not an isolated couple, but part of a local community would be comforting. I look forward to meeting other Ressurection online worshippers who live iive in our area (we are in Chersterland). The group will function as a collaboration in which all participants will have an equal voice in determining the activities and meeting content.
My name is Cindy and I am a born and raised Colorado native, which according to folks that live here is really rare. I am a Certified Nurse Midwife and live in northwest, Westminster and office in Lowry. I’m looking for another outlet to socialize and share with like-minded and like-spirited humans. I found Resurrection during the pandemic and feel spiritually connected with the greater community and mission. My hope is to lead a social and serving group. I’m excited to meet and connect with each of you!
We are looking to become a dynamic group of DMV online Resurrection worshipers who are committed to changing the world by doing our part to build God’s kingdom here on earth. We will gather to socialize as well as participate in serve projects that our Geo Group members identify. Prayerfully, our direction will evolve organically as we gather as faithful disciples of Jesus Christ.
I hope our group can meet monthly — perhaps on Serve Saturday (third Saturday each month) or for special events such as the national Martin Luther King, Jr. Day of Service. Our emphasis will be on making a positive impact in our communities through serving at existing local charities such as the Community of Hope in Las Cruces or Refugee Assistance at El Calvario UMC in Las Cruces. Depending on home base for our Geo Group members, we can choose serve opportunities in other communities too. In the future, we can also consider meeting together for special worship opportunities (ex: Candlelight Christmas Eve) either in-person or online with Resurrection. And with any gathering, we can make it a time to eat and socialize!
We live near Stoughton, Wisconsin, which is just south of Madison, and are excited to have the opportunity to connect in-person with other Resurrection worshippers in our area. We like the idea of getting together to both serve and socialize, and are very flexible regarding types of gatherings and frequency based on the desires of our group. Resurrection has always enthusiastically promoted next steps, and Geo Groups seem like an awesome next step for those of us with online connections to our church. Hope you can join us! God Bless!
We are Eric and Staci, from the Ft. Wayne area, and we would like to welcome you to the launch of the Indiana Resurrection Geo Group! This group will have a primary focus on service projects in Indiana, but also allows for fellowship with other online Resurrection worshipers. We are looking forward to getting to know each of you!
Looking forward to connecting with those who are a part of Resurrection in Northeast Wisconsin from the Lakeshore to the Valley, Door County, Marinette, and Greater Green Bay. This is a great opportunity to be able to connect face-to-face in our own backyards, getting together for a meal or service project.
Hi, Resurrection people residing in Northwest Arkansas and the surrounding area! My name is Louann. I, too, live in NWA, but I worship at Resurrection and am on the giving and receiving ends of ministry here. I started attending Resurrection’s worship services online during the lockdown of the pandemic, but I’ve stayed at Resurrection long past then because I’ve found my church home! I found warmth, personal connection, and Christian growth in every Bible study, group meeting, and seminar I’ve attended online. It was after several years as an online member despite feeling fulfilled and blessed to have found my church home, that I began to wonder – is there a way to really connect with others in NWA who share my deep ties to and love for Resurrection? Enter: Geo Groups! If you live in or around Northwest Arkansas, I invite you to our NWA Geo Group. The group will evolve and develop a personality all its own as we go along and grow. Built into the DNA of our group’s design will be (1) gathering in some fashion once a month, and (2) balancing fellowship together with serving our community together.
We live in Windermere, FL, a suburb of Orlando, and are only 20 minutes from multiple popular theme parks. This translates to family and friends visiting from out of town to enjoy all that Orlando has to offer. We both worked for Walt Disney World, where we met, and we are now among the ranks of the happily retired. We have four adult children and three of the four children live outside of Florida. We enjoy traveling, and with children in Washington state, North Carolina, and Virginia, we have some wonderful places to explore when visiting our family members. Jerry is originally from Detroit, MI (Go Lions!) and Cheryl is originally from Kutztown, PA (Go Chiefs!…wait I think I am supposed to be an Eagles fan…don’t tell my friends back home). We look forward to spending time with fellow Resurrection online worshippers to develop a local faith community where we can gather and spend time together in Christian fellowship!
We appreciate Resurrection’s ministries and teachings, and we would love to connect with others who live “around” Springfield/Branson (MO) who do as well. We realize we are probably spread all around the Ozarks, yet we hope a monthly gathering for a meal (and occasionally an opportunity to serve together) might offer those of us who call Resurrection their spiritual home a way to connect and find some encouragement.
The Pacific NW Geo Group is made up of Resurrection attenders in our area. Oregan is more spread out, so although I’m in Salem OR, this group is for anyone in the Pacific NW. The purpose of the group will be to connect spiritually and socially. The envisioned format is the get to know each other, discuss sermons from the month, and share prayer requests. The final format will be developed by the group members, but I see us meeting primarily on Zoom due to distance.
At the heart of every church community lies a deep commitment to actively serve and care for one another. This Geo Group will create an opportunity for online Resurrection members in Palm Beach and Broward Counties to connect with each other for the purpose of building relationships and exploring ways to serve our local communities. Members will meet at least once a month on Zoom and in-person. Gatherings will be fun, entertaining, and purposeful as well. All are welcome and encouraged to participate whenever they are available.
This group is for Phoenix area Resurrection online members to meet in a social way!
Looking forward to meeting and serving with those in the Greater Pittsburgh Region who are online worshippers at Church of the Resurrection. We hope to start with some interesting and relevant service projects and once we have been able to get to know each other, some social events as well.
Hello, Quad Cities! I love being a member of Resurrection and enjoy worshipping online, but I feel a need to expand my growth through fellowship and service. Pastor Adam always tells us to “Go!” and I find this to be an exciting challenge for us to bring Resurrection values and service to our hometowns and to strengthen our faith. If you feel like this might be something you would enjoy too, I invite you to join me in this adventure and see what we can do together as a COReQC geo group.
My name is Joe and I am very excited to become involved with Resurrection Geo Groups. Although we are about 1,500 miles from Kansas City, it will be a nice way of getting together and feel more closely connected with the church and congregation. We will also be part of an effort to learn and help build a program that will be a benefit to those of us who are “distantly challenged.” I hope that we can find opportunities to serve those in need in our own local communities, although we encompass a very large geographic area. This will be part of the challenge of crafting something new, but we can leverage activities and efforts that you may already be connected with. I’m looking forward to increase my involvement with and add to my commitment to our church!
Richmond area friends, we invite you to be a part of our Resurrection Geo Group! Our aim is to build community among people in and around the RVA, who have found inspiration as a part of Resurrection’s worship and programs, and who would like to meet others nearby. We are a social and service group that meets in-person monthly. We welcome group members looking for connection, no matter the stage in faith journey. Come join us!
Hi, NorCal peeps! I’ve been a member of Resurrection since 2021 and, like many of us, have grown so much in faith and in online fellowship here. I love the idea of connecting in-person and know that the possibilities for us are many, both in terms of socializing and in serving. We will be casual & collaborative in activities/scheduling & committed to each other in our shared faith. So if you’re even kind of interested in meeting up monthly with other Resurrection people for fun, have a service project you’d like to share, want to discuss a book or sermon series, or simply think it’s time the 49erful Faithful* makes its presence known at Resurrection, I hope to hear from you! (*football interest optional)
The Twin Cities (Minneapolis/St. Paul metropolitan area) Geo Group invites all who would like to connect with other local Resurrection worshippers for social engagements and service opportunities. While Resurrection does a fantastic job engaging folks from all over the country with online services, studies, and events, it’s also great to connect face-to-face with other worshippers nearby and serve people in our community. Since this is a new group, it will evolve over time based on participants’ preferences and locations. The plan initially is to meet monthly alternating between social engagements and service opportunities. I look forward to meeting you! (There is an open co-leader role for this group. Email online@cor.org if you’re interested in co-leading.)
Following Jesus’ lead, I see our group as growing together and serving those less fortunate. Growing together means listening to different perspectives as we discuss Pastor Adam’s sermons, and sharing how God is working in our lives. Growth can happen whether we all think alike or come from different perspectives and cultures, as long as we are seeking Jesus’ direction. By serving we can be the hands and feet of Jesus, and also experience the joy that comes with helping those in need. We will determine how to accomplish this as a group, whether we meet by zoom or in-person. I hope we can do both. Depending on a group decision, we’d plan on meeting twice a month. Pastor Adam gives us much to ponder, and I look forward to doing this along side this geo group.
