Church programs for Monday, Jan. 22 will resume their normal schedule at all locations this evening.
Leawood’s Sunday night in-person worship has been moved to 4 pm for Sunday, February 11.
Therefore, as a prisoner for the Lord, I encourage you to live as people worthy of the call you received from God. Conduct yourselves with all humility, gentleness, and patience. Accept each other with love, and make an effort to preserve the unity of the Spirit with the peace that ties you together.
When I read our scripture in Ephesians, I reflect on the gratitude that I have for mentors in my life. Mentors, unlike managers or bosses, have an incredible task in guiding and directing you towards a common goal. Mentoring is mutually beneficial and is based on development. Spiritual mentors–for me–have been the most influential. As I conclude my time with specific mentors during this season of life, I acknowledge their importance, their support of the call God has on my life, their feedback that has been instrumental to my growth in ministry and their prayers.
Have you ever considered a spiritual mentor? Consider asking a trusted person to be your mentor.
Let’s pray:
God of Love, today I give you thanks for equipping mentors. We are so grateful for their gifts of ministry, their encouragement, their feedback, and their call to ministry to recognize and affirm others. Thank you for sending us people who are filled with wisdom and grace to lead us and guide us each day. We are so thankful for all the gifts you have given us in this life. We pray to be a witness of gratitude every day. Amen.
This week's prayer tip is by Jessica Lovell, who serves as a Connection & Care Pastor at Resurrection Overland Park.
