Daily Scripture

Romans 8:11 (CEB), Galatians 5:22-23a (CEB), 1 Corinthians 12:1 (CEB) and Romans 8:14 (NRSV)

If the Spirit of the one who raised Jesus from the dead LIVES IN YOU, the one who raised Christ from the dead will give life to your human bodies also, through HIS SPIRIT THAT LIVES IN YOU.

The fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, and self-control.

Brothers and sisters, I don’t want you to be ignorant about spiritual gifts.

For all who are led by the Spirit of God are children of God.

Daily Reflection & Prayer

While I was looking at today’s Scripture readings, this hymn started going through my head. Praying with hymns is a prayer practice that can help us focus, calm our hearts and minds, and open us to what the Holy Spirit has to say. You can say the words, repeating them until you feel like you have taken in the message, and maybe even a little glowing with divine fire! Let’s pray with this hymn today:
Prayer
Breathe on me, Breath of God, fill me with life anew,
That I may love what thou dost love and do what thou wouldst do.
Breath on me,  Breath of God, until my heart is pure,
Until with thee I will on will, to do and to endure.
Breathe on me, Breath of God, till I am wholly thine,
Till all this earthly part of me glows with thy fire divine.
Breathe on me, Breath of God, so shall I never die,
But live with thee the perfect life of thine eternity.
