The Food Mobile provides hungry people in the Kansas City area with fresh, nutritious food and a dignified shopping experience. Volunteers are needed to check-in guests, assist with shopping, and sack groceries. Great for Families! 10 & Older

The Starfish Foundation provides community service to those of all ages and abilities, in conjunction with local pantries-food donation coordination, limited case management and resource coordination. Join us as we unload and stock food or assist in tying bags for homeless mats. 5 & Older
Blessings Abound Thrift Store is a Christian not for profit organization called to serve the metro Kansas City Community by selling and recycling donated merchandise in order to provide aid to people in need.12 & older

The Family Resource Center provides solutions to address the needs of working disabled individuals, families and senior citizens facing hardships due to poverty, low income, homelessness and food insecurity. A Turning Point’s mission is to support families by providing basic needs and education to equip them for self-sufficiency. A Turning Point provides a food pantry, clothes closet, academy, community meals, and an outreach for the unhoused. We will be helping clients move through the shopping process, stock shelves and/or push carts. Wear weather-appropriate clothing and comfortable shoes.
Minimum age is 13 when accompanied by an adult.

Cornerstones of Care is a behavioral and mental health nonprofit dedicated to partnering with children and families to build safe and healthy communities. The youth who are living on CoC’s Ozanam Campus receive trauma-responsive support to improve safety, behavior, and aid in healing from trauma. Volunteers for this serve event will help prepare for the annual plant sale by cleaning, organizing, and setting up the greenhouse—creating a space where growth and hope can flourish. This is a hands-on way to serve kids and families while helping make a meaningful impact in our community.

Flourish, Kansas City’s only furniture bank, partners with social service agencies to provide wrap-around services by empowering families to overcome housing insecurity. Join us as we help Flourish with their expansion to a storefront showroom space. Volunteers will disassemble shelving, pack items from current shelving, re-assemble shelving in the new space, and help with other projects, as needed.

Helping Hands Construction Ministry’s mission is to be the hands and feet of Jesus in our city by assisting local non-profit organizations with small construction repairs. Join us at Blessings Abound in Overland Park where our projects for this event will include installing a door between the dock and sorting area, constructing heavy duty shelving in the sorting area, building four new sorting tables, expanding space in the furniture department, and installing slatwall on a 38′ wall.

Uplift Organization is a mobile street outreach for the homeless of Kansas City. Three nights per week, we take four Sprinter vans loaded with food, clothing, and other essential supplies out to the homeless. Warehouse sorting sessions are a crucial part of our mission to take care and compassion to the homeless of Kansas City.
