Ash Wednesday services at all Resurrection locations will be held on schedule today.
Scheduled programming has resumed for Thursday, February 13 at all Resurrection locations.
As christian’s were taught to approach death in many ways. today the church group went to a worship service in Santa Marta unlike anything most any of us have ever experienced. afterwards, Will explained to us some of the things we witnessed. Hearing him speak about heaven and earth and worship and praise was fascinating. His tone and manner was nothing but joy and completely free of judgement. As he talked about what we had seen and the reasons behind them he smiled and said “I can only hope that’s what heaven is, just the Holy Spirit taking over everyone as they praise.”He explained to us the cultural elements behind the congregation’s beliefs and practices. No questions were dumb questions and it was a chance for us to learn and grow as a group.
That evening we went to a second service, after having some time to reflect on our earlier experience. At this service we were met with smiles and hugs from the G180 congregation. They played songs we knew, introduced us to their families, and even translated the entire message for us. Overall our day was full of being welcomed, learning about new cultures and belief systems, and universal love.
