Costa Rica - Day 3

The team woke up after an amazing day 2 of worship with the church in Santa Marta and the young adult group G180 ready to get to work. Bright and early we were shuttles to our worksite for the week in Peje.

We were split into teams with specialized tasks, from demolition to scraping walls.  The team was surprised to learn that there is a mandatory rest period every day called siesta.  It made for very different experience for our lunch break as after we ate everyone rested and lounged in hammocks for about an hour.

Some students used this “rest” period to interact with the local community which eventually led to an amazing impromptu game of soccer, which inspired even our bus driver to join which delayed our trip back for dinner but the connections and smiles made it worth it.
