Rebuilding Hope: Responding to Hurricane Ian

7/10/23

Florida

As the devastating winds of Hurricane Ian ripped through coastal communities, leaving a trail of destruction in its wake, hope was not lost. In the face of this natural disaster, teams of dedicated individuals have come together. Still nine months later our team is ready to embark on a trip to lend a helping hand. With hearts full of compassion and determination, we gather to help install drywall at a local Fort Myers church.

This serve trip is an opportunity for us to witness the strength of the human spirit and the power of community. It is a reminder that, in times of great adversity, humans possess the ability come together and make a difference. Our team, composed of individuals from diverse backgrounds and skill sets, will work in tandem with local organizations, relief agencies, and volunteers on the ground. By combining our strengths and resources, we will strive to provide a caring Christian presence in the aftermath of disaster. We want those recovering to know that we remember what happened last September– that we see the needs in the communities affected.

With hearts united, we stand prepared to respond to the call of those in need. This serve trip serves as a testament to our shared humanity and the power of compassion in times of crisis. Together, we will work alongside survivors, and stand in solidarity with those affected by Hurricane Ian so they can know they are not alone in their journey towards recovery.
