Church programs for Monday, Jan. 22 will resume their normal schedule at all locations this evening.
Leawood’s Sunday night in-person worship has been moved to 4 pm for Sunday, February 11.
It was an A+ final day in El Obraje, as we saw the face of God in a number of important ways.
After days filled with sweat while sifting sand, mixing & laying concrete + stuccoing inside and out, we declared victory in completing our wonderful pilas. The gratitude from our homeowners, displayed through lots of hugs and frequent mentions of ‘Muchas Gracias’, warmed our hearts in a primo conclusion to construction.
Also, we wrapped up Vacation Bible School with a skit featuring Saul & Samuel and a craft focused on (appropriately) decorating a cross! Goodbye hugs from kids of all ages is a memory that will keep our cups filled for years to come…
Finally, in route to the Mission House, the team visited the ‘Valley of the Angels’ to pick up mementos to remind us of our life-changing experience in Honduras. The author of today’s blog picked up a small wooden Honduran themed cross that will be placed in a key place in their home to encourage them to not take the basics we expect for granted. First and foremost, clean water, which the pilas we built will provide for our dear Hondurans.
As a bonus — A festive Celebration Dinner was held which demonstrated the magical bond that has developed among the 19 team members – Relationships which may well last a lifetime!
