Work begins in El Obraje

Today we ate breakfast and packed up the van to head to El Obraje. We were all hoping we would be able to get there and do the work that we had planned, and we did!! Right when we got there, eight of us started working on “pillas” (similar to a cistern). Four of us stayed at the church to paint a Sunday school room. We all worked very hard alongside our Honduran foreman and local volunteers. The children of the church for eager to help the team paint!

The afternoon was filled with Vacation Bible School! The kids were excited to participate and eager to learn the Bible story for today, how Adam and Eve were tempted by the serpent, puppet included! The children were excited to teach our team, a few songs, even one about being a soldier of God.

Following Vacation Bible school, the soccer tournament was organized in the courtyard next to the church. A few brave souls from our team played “football” with the Honduran pros, while others of our team are comfortable cheering them on with great enthusiasm! It was so amazing being able to interact with the kids and local people.

We have affecting our evenings, “Dinner and Devo”, excited for another day serving in El Obraje tomorrow.
