The Giving Garden

The Giving Garden is back! We invite you and your family to discover the joy of giving back and being part of something truly impactful while celebrating God’s beautiful creation! Throughout our amazing 2023 season, over 10,000 tomatoes and nearly two tons of assorted fresh produce went from the earth to the Kansas City community through Resurrection’s Food Mobile. We are thrilled to begin another incredible season, and we are even more thrilled to announce a SECOND Giving Garden location in the heart of Kansas City!

Together, we are not just cultivating a garden; we are cultivating compassion, community, and a brighter future for those in need. Come be part of what God is doing at The Giving Garden, where every seed planted is a step towards a more nourished and connected community!

Volunteer Opportunities

Ready to get your hands dirty and make an impact? There are plenty of opportunities now and throughout the growing season. We can’t wait to see you in the garden!

Resurrection’s Vision 2030

This garden is an exciting opportunity to come alongside Resurrection’s Vision 2030. We hope to actively close the gaps that exist between the world as it is today and the way it should be in our lives, across our community, and around the world.

The Justice and Kindness Gap
We will directly address food injustice and build bridges of healing in our city so that Kansas City looks more like the Kingdom of God. We will model for our community and world what it looks like to truly love our neighbors.

The Generational Gap
We will connect older and younger people and raise a new generation of leaders. We hope to effectively reach non-religious people in an increasingly secular community. We will create a unique community where all generations are valued, respected and cared for.

The Spiritual Gap
Working together in God’s creation to care for those experiencing physical hunger will help us deepen our relationships with those we are working with. This will give us many opportunities to encourage one another along our faith journeys.

The Opportunity Gap
We will work to ensure that the members of our community experiencing physical hunger will have access to fresh, organic produce through our Food Mobile and Overland Park Food Pantry.

We are so excited for you get involved! If you have questions or would like to know more about the garden, please reach out to Katy at katy.nall@cor.org.
