Small groups can be a breeding ground for strong connections, offering a sense of belonging and support that is often missing in wider social circles.

As a small group was beginning their time together, a woman shared of some struggles her mom was going through. The group members listened as she described the dilemma her mom was facing. As the conversation continued, members began asking further questions about the situation. It was unclear initially where the conversation was going, and the expressed concern was appreciated.

It turns out these group members had direct knowledge and experience in helping others through this exact thing! By the end of the conversation, they were providing professional support to our group member’s mom! In the end, they were able to advise her and help her walk through this terribly difficult situation. It was an amazing thing to witness the group not only support their fellow member, but also tangibly support her mom through such a difficult time.

Shared experiences in common with other members can be a springboard for building stronger connections. When everyone feels seen, the group becomes a more supportive and cohesive unit; One that continues to bless, support, and see each group member for the uniqueness and gifts they embody.
