Church programs for Monday, Jan. 22 will resume their normal schedule at all locations this evening.
Leawood’s Sunday night in-person worship has been moved to 4 pm for Sunday, February 11.
I have chosen to leave a legacy to Church of the Resurrection because I believe the church’s mission and ministry is the most important work in our community and the world. God has provided for my family through the years, and I’m thankful to be able, through this legacy, to continue supporting our church after I’m gone.
The church has been important in the lives of my husband, Lowell Thuma, and me. We started attending here after his retirement, as a Pastor of 50 years, to serve God along with Pastor Adam. During that time Lowell and another pastor organized the ABC Class (Adult Bible Class) for Seniors. Lowell passed away August 2006.
Our legacy is designated to apply to the Thuma Seminary Scholarship Fund. The Fund was established in 2006, in honor of Rev. Lowell Thuma, given by the ABC Class. Our Legacy will provide scholarships for many years to come. Now the Morning Star Class and the ABC Class have merged and both are working on ways to support our seminary students.
