After several months of demolition and chaos, the rebuilding phase is now well underway! Not only is the new, grand staircase in place, but new walls are up, new doorways are in place and the excitement is mounting. The final pieces of drywall with our names and prayers have been put in place, and the giant metal beam with names, hopes and stickers is supporting the new entrance into our worship space.
I love the symbolism that the metal beam is the foundation of a sturdy structure – distributing the weight evenly so that no one part bears too much weight on its own. It reminds me that not only is Jesus the firm foundation that supports and protects us, but the body of the church (all of us together) distributes the weight of our struggles and sorrows so that no one bears it alone.
We are on track to complete the renovation in early to mid-September. Watch for more updates coming soon!
