Church programs for Monday, Jan. 22 will resume their normal schedule at all locations this evening.
Leawood’s Sunday night in-person worship has been moved to 4 pm for Sunday, February 11.
We’re so glad you’ve moved here! You may be looking for somewhere to connect with other people and engage in your new community. Our church is also new to the neighborhood, and we’d love to welcome you and your family as we grow together.
This page will introduce you to Resurrection, our Brookside location, and many of the ways you and your family can get connected.
Resurrection is a place where kids, students and adults find a safe, authentic and welcoming community where everyone belongs. Your kids can experience a fun and warm environment with our Kids Ministry, and we always have coffee for you as you join us for worship.
We offer two worship services on Sundays. The first service starts at 9 am and features modern music. The second service starts at 11 am and features traditional music with a choir and organ.
It can be hard to find a new place and get connected with others. We’d like to be that place for you. To see the next steps for you to get connected, click the button below.
Wendy Lyons Chrostek is a lifelong United Methodist and grew up in Lake Arthur, Louisiana. She has been serving in full-time ministry since 2006 and began serving at Resurrection in 2009. She is currently the location pastor of Resurrection’s newest location, Resurrection Brookside. She holds a Master of Divinity degree from Duke University and has a deep commitment to building community and developing relationships with those around her.
Wendy is a firm believer in the power of relationships, and she works hard to create a welcoming and inclusive environment where people can come together to learn, grow, and support one another. In addition to her work in the community, Wendy is a devoted mother to her two children, Freddy and Poppy, and is married to Scott, who also serves as a pastor at Resurrection.
In December of 2023, we embarked upon a journey of faith of unity and of love as Resurrection Brookside.
We came together with a vision of how our church could change lives and transform our community. We’ve celebrated milestones, grown in number, and made an impact that reaches beyond these walls. We’ve become a family, a beacon of hope in our community touching lives and hearts.
