Say Their Names: A Recovery Community Memorial Service

September is National Recovery Month, and Resurrection’s Recovery Ministry is hosting a sacred gathering for anyone carrying grief tied to addiction, no matter how recent or how long ago the loss occurred. On Saturday, September 26 at 7 pm, our historic Brookside location opens its sanctuary for an evening built around remembering, naming, and speaking aloud the people we’ve lost. Music, prayer, and quiet reflection carry the evening, along with space to say a name out loud and know it will be heard. Resurrection is joining with other organizations across Kansas City for this service, holding to the belief that love outlasts death and grief doesn’t have to be carried alone. Everyone is welcome, whatever your connection to loss looks like.
