Matthew’s Ministry Family Day Out at Leawood

Matthew’s Ministry invites participants with special needs and volunteers to a festive Family Day Out on Saturday, December 13, from noon to 3 pm in the Leawood Foundry. This special daytime gathering brings together friends for an afternoon of holiday celebration, complete with a warm meal, creative crafts, engaging games, joyful caroling, photos with Santa, and a movie to round out the festivities. Volunteers will be paired with participants to share in the fun and create meaningful connections throughout the afternoon. Whether you’re making ornaments, singing carols, or capturing a memory with Santa, this family-friendly event offers a welcoming space to celebrate the season together. Volunteers should plan to arrive by 11:30 am.

Joins us for our annual Christmas celebration at Matthew’s Ministry Family DAY Out on Saturday, December 13!

Matthew’s Ministry Family Night Out offers a free time of respite for parents and caregivers of individuals with special needs. Participants are paired with volunteers for a fun time of themed activities, including dinner, games, crafts, and a movie while parents and caregivers have a day out. All ages of participants are welcome, as well as siblings (ages 12 years and younger) of those with special needs. Registration required.

Volunteer:

Numerous volunteers are needed each month to make our event a success!  Volunteers will be paired with a participant with special needs or sibling for the event. There are also other opportunities to help in the kitchen or with crafts and activities. No experience necessary, just a heart to serve! Volunteers ages 13 years or younger are welcome but must be accompanied by an adult when volunteering.
