Summer Mornings Book Club

Pastor Ally hosts a four-week summer book club reading Kate Bowler’s Joyful, Anyway, a witty and honest exploration of what it means to find joy not by fixing your life, but by making room for it even when life feels hard, disappointing, or just plain ordinary. Drawing on her own experience with cancer, Kate makes a compelling case that happiness depends on circumstances going right, while joy is something sturdier and more surprising, showing up in places we least expect it. The group meets on Tuesdays, June 2 through 23, from 9 to 10 am in the chapel at Resurrection Lee’s Summit.
