Impact Report

Building an endowment for ministry impact through planned giving

and every gift tells a story. Let us tell your story by completing or updating your confidential donor declaration at the button below.

A MESSAGE FROM OUR EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR
"For the LORD is good; his steadfast love endures forever and his faithfulness to all generations" (Psalm 100:5, NRSV)

Psalm 100, an incredible hymn of praise, explicitly reminds us God’s generous love endures forever, from generation to generation, and we are invited to join Him in this generosity. One way of expressing our gratitude for God’s generous love is by leaving a planned gift to Resurrection. By doing so, you join the generational impact of the church’s mission and ministry in the world.

My name is Debi Nixon and I have the incredible privilege of serving as the Executive Director of the Resurrection Foundation. On behalf of the board and staff, I am honored to share the 2023 Impact Report with you. As we reflect on 2023, we celebrate the profound impact of the Resurrection Foundation Legacy Society (RFLS) members who left an estate or living gift to the Resurrection Foundation. God is changing lives, strengthening churches, and transforming the world through these extraordinary expressions of generosity. In this report, you will hear inspiring stories from several RFLS households who made the intentional decision to name the Resurrection Foundation in their estate. You will also learn more about the grant-generating impact of several Resurrection Foundation funds.

DEBI NIXON
Executive Director

For those of you who have already named the church in your estate, thank you! For those who have yet to finalize your future generosity plans, we invite you to consider the unique impact you can create through a planned gift.

Thank you for ensuring a future filled with hope for Resurrection, one that declares God’s faithfulness to all generations, always and forever. We look forward to connecting with you about your planned giving dreams during 2024. To connect with the Resurrection Foundation team anytie, please email foundation@cor.org.

2023 HIGHLIGHTS

Fact #1

ONE GENERATION COMMENDS YOUR WORKS TO ANOTHER...
- PSALM 145:4

The Resurrection Foundation was established in 2002 to endow a lasting impact on the church’s ministry and mission by encouraging members to support Resurrection with a planned gift. By remembering the church in your estate, you intentionally bear witness to your faith, model extravagant generosity, and help future generations of non-religious and nominally religious people become deeply committed Christians.

Having experienced God’s remarkable transformation in their own lives, Val and Rob Smith made the intentional decision to leave the majority of their residual estate to the Resurrection Foundation. Listen to Val and Rob’s story of responsive generosity.

Fact #2

WE BELONG TO EACH OTHER...
- ROMANS 12:5

When a donor completes a Donor Declaration to share their planned giving dreams with the Resurrection Foundation, they are welcomed as a new member of the Resurrection Foundation Legacy Society. At the end of 2023, the Resurrection Foundation Legacy Society celebrated a membership of 502 households who will create a future ministry impact at Resurrection of $62,131,000. By sharing your planned giving dreams on your very own confidential donor declaration, you can help the Resurrection Foundation achieve a $200,000,000 future ministry impact by 2030.

Having experienced God’s transformative love through Resurrection, Amy and Bob Stiner made the decision to create a planned gift, even as parents of teenagers. Their planned gift is designated to support the Resurrection Unrestricted Fund. The Resurrection Unrestricted Fund can support any ministry and mission at or through Resurrection. Listen to Amy’s story of responsive generosity.

Fact #3

REMEMBER TO DO GOOD AND HELP EACH OTHER...
- HEBREWS 13:16

Each year, the Resurrection Foundation utilizes three VISION funds to create grants for innovative ministries and missions at Resurrection. If you would like to update your confidential donor declaration to include the VISION funds, please email foundation@cor.org.

  • The Changing Lives Fund supports discipleship and worship ministries at Resurrection.
  • The Strengthening Churches Fund equips churches and trains church leaders.
  • The Transforming the World Fund supports local and global missions focused on education, health, and economic empowerment.

During 2023, a grant from the Changing Lives Fund purchased the durable goods for Resurrection Students’ inaugural wilderness trip in July. Listen to Steve Nash and Andrew Stiner’s story
of experiencing God’s majesty on this remarkable outdoor adventure.

Fact #4

A LAVISH PLANTER GETS A LAVISH CROP...
- 2 CORINTHIANS 9:6

The Resurrection Foundation stewards more than 30 ministry funds on behalf of planned giving donors. Periodically, donors establish brand new funds in support of a particular area of ministry or mission they are most passionate about at Resurrection.

In March of 2022, the Seward family created the Seward Mission Trip Scholarship Fund in memory and celebration of Karen Seward. During 2023, this remarkable fund provided NINE scholarships for persons participating on global serve trips through Resurrection. Listen to David Seward’s story of “sowing” generosity.
