We’re recruiting volunteers for an important initiative supporting foster youth transitioning to financial independence. On Saturday, April 11, in Foundry, around 100 teens aging out of foster care will visit vendors, resources, and prospective employers, participate in breakout sessions, and come together for a budgeting workshop and lunch before meeting with a personal shopper to go to Walmart to spend $100. This event will be from 9 am to noon on-site, then move off-site for the shopping portion. This community-wide effort, supported by Resurrection Women’s Ministries, invites volunteers to guide Kansas and Missouri foster youth in developing critical financial skills. Your involvement equips these young adults with both financial knowledge and practical resources as they move toward independence—a major piece of our vision to close the opportunity gap for teens aging out of foster care.

Not called to be a foster parent, but want to do something real to make a big impact? Joining a Care Community is a powerful way to make a lasting impact in the lives of foster families! This is an amazing way to serve as an individual or with your small group!
A Care Community is a team of 8-10 people who provide consistent, wrap-around support for one foster or adoptive family.
Research shows that families caring for vulnerable children are far more likely to continue when they’re surrounded by intentional, ongoing support. By coming alongside them, we help ensure they can serve from a place of abundance—not exhaustion.
Care Communities work together as a team to offer practical help like:
Together, we can lighten the load and strengthen the families who are making a difference every day. Click the button below if you would like to be a part of a Care Community today!
