Daily Scripture

Romans 1:16-17 (CEB), Ephesians 2:1, 4-5, 8-10 (NRSV)

I’m not ashamed of the gospel: it is God’s own power for salvation to all who have faith in God, to the Jew first and also to the Greek. God’s righteousness is being revealed in the gospel, from faithfulness for faith, as it is written, The righteous person will live by faith.

You were dead through the trespasses and sins… BUT GOD, who is rich in mercy, out of the great love with which he loved us even when we were dead through our trespasses, made us alive together with Christ… For by grace you have been saved through faith, and this is not your own doing; it is the gift of God— not the result of works, so that no one may boast. For we are what he has made us, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared beforehand to be our way of life,

Daily Reflection & Prayer

I am not ashamed of the Gospel.

Recently, I have been observing the different clothing during the football season. I have enjoyed seeing all the different types of clothing that can use the Chiefs’ colors of red and gold. I have been inspired by the passion that our community has for football, but I also thought–wouldn’t it be cool if our community had the same amount of passion for Jesus?! Think about Arrowhead stadium for a minute… what would it look like for Arrowhead to be filled by Christians? What colors would you wear?

How do you wear your faith? Do you make it obvious that you are a follower of Christ? Is it just your clothing or is it your attitude and how you carry yourself? I am not ashamed of being a big nerd for Jesus. This week, think about how you wear your faith. Do you ever hide your faith? Our community needs you and your faith! Live your faith out loud.

Let us pray:

Prayer

Everlasting God, thank you for giving me a passionate amount of faith. Remind me to not be ashamed of the Gospel and to continue to live my faith out loud in my actions, my attitudes, and my mindset. I ask for comfort during this time of grief in our community. Let me be a reminder of God’s love and grace. Amen!
