Daily Scripture

1 John 4:8b (CEB), John 15:13 (NRSV), John 3:16 (CEB), Romans 5:8 (NRSV), 1 John 4:10 (CEB)

God is love.

No one has greater love than this, to lay down one’s life for one’s friends.

God so loved the world that he gave his only Son, so that everyone who believes in him won’t perish but will have eternal life.

God proves his love for us in that while we still were sinners Christ died for us.

This is love: it is not that we loved God but that he loved us and sent his Son as the sacrifice that deals with our sins.

Daily Reflection & Prayer

Sometimes the love of God fills us with such joy, we want to sing! As we enter this holy week before Easter, bring some music into your prayers. Let the joy and wonder of God’s gift and Jesus’ sacrifice for us spill out in song. Here is a traditional hymn you can sing along with or make up your own joyful noise! Perfect pitch or no pitch, or something in between, God loves to hear us happy, joyful and thankful.

Prayer
Lord God of Heaven and Earth, today I just want to thank you and sing praise for the wonderful gift of eternal life and forgiveness that came to us through Jesus sacrifice and resurrection. Let my songs of praise, sung or spoken, out loud or in my heart, be an offering of thanksgiving, and love. Amen.
