The Lifelong Work of Transformation
Daily Scripture
2 Corinthians 3:12-18
12 So, since we have such a hope, we act with great confidence. 13 We aren’t like Moses, who used to put a veil over his face so that the Israelites couldn’t watch the end of what was fading away. 14 But their minds were closed. Right up to the present day the same veil remains when the old covenant is read. The veil is not removed because it is taken away by Christ. 15 Even today, whenever Moses is read, a veil lies over their hearts. 16 But whenever someone turns back to the Lord, the veil is removed. 17 The Lord is the Spirit, and where the Lord’s Spirit is, there is freedom. 18 All of us are looking with unveiled faces at the glory of the Lord as if we were looking in a mirror. We are being transformed into that same image from one degree of glory to the next degree of glory. This comes from the Lord, who is the Spirit.
Daily Reflection & Prayer
Spiritual transformation is not instantaneous. Transformation happens one faithful step, one surrendered prayer, and one act of obedience at a time. Paul reminds us that through Christ, “the veil is removed”—we no longer must hide from God or pretend to be someone we’re not. Instead, we are invited to look honestly at Jesus and allow the Holy Spirit to shape us into God’s image and likeness.
God loves us exactly as we are but loves us too much to let us remain there. Every day offers another opportunity to become a little more patient, a little more forgiving, a little more generous, and a little more like Christ. As you begin today, remember that God is not asking for perfection. God is inviting you to remain open to the Spirit, trusting that even the smallest moments of faithfulness become part of the lifelong work of transformation.

Prayer
Gracious God, thank you for your patient and transforming grace. Remove anything that keeps me from seeing you clearly, and shape my heart to reflect the love, mercy, and character of Christ. May your Holy Spirit guide my thoughts, words, and actions today so that others might catch a glimpse of your glory through my life. Amen.
