Fall Cleanup

KC Shepherd Center supports older adults by to increase social activity, reduce food insecurity, and build lasting relationships. Everything they do helps seniors age in the place they call home.

Join in as we work together as we rake leaves for older adults, doing yard work for those who can’t afford help, and who can’t care for their yards. under 16 must be accompanied by an adult.

Consturuction and Housing

During Pride Build, Habitat KC and hundreds of volunteers partner with LGBTQIA+ homeowners to build homes or complete minor and critical repairs that help them maintain a safe and healthy place to live. No construction experience is needed. Habitat for Humanity gives you the tools and skills you need to make an impact.

Lee’s Summit Social Services has a mission to assist low-income, elderly, and/or disabled persons in the Lee’s Summit Social Services service area with emergency needs while enabling them to maintain their dignity and learning to set realistic goals. 10 & Older

Join us at Resurrection Downtown as we host the Hillcrest Transitional Living Young Adult Program for their Thanksgiving celebration. This is a great opportunity to serve individuals between the ages of 16-24 that are experiencing homelessness and working hard at improving their lives. We need assistance in setup and teardown, hospitality, serving, and more!

Housing

ReStore generates funds that support our work with local families in need of a safe, decent, and affordable place to call home. Sorting donations, taking inventory, and assisting customers, are some examples of group volunteering opportunities in Kansas City that help us increase our impact.

Our Mission Center is home to our Food Mobile, Book mobile, Bed Ministry, and Resurrection’s Truck Ministry. Join us to help assemble sack lunches that we distribute through our FoodMobile and community partners to our homeless communities around Kansas City.

Central UMC walks with their community, offering assistance with groceries, clothing, job skills, and weekly hot meals. Join Resurrection at Central UMC in KCK as we prepare and serve a homemade Thanksgiving Meal and host children’s games with individuals and families experiencing hardship.

 Uplift Organization is a mobile street outreach for the homeless of Kansas City. Three nights a week, we take four Sprinter vans loaded with food, clothing, and other essential supplies out to the homeless. FAMILY FRIENDLY!

Holiday Shop

During our 9-day Holiday Shop many local companies, families, civic groups and individuals help to accomplish our needed Holiday Shop. Each year it takes over 3,000 volunteers to assist the over 13,000 neighbors of Johnson County during the holiday season.

Do Unto Others
Yard Signs

Help spread kindness throughout the city with yard signs reminding everyone of the Golden Rule: Do unto others as you would have them do unto you. We’ll have sets of 20 signs and a map with a target area that you can pick up at Serve Saturday. Place your signs in public areas where there are already other political signs.

At JVS, they engage, encourage and empower refugees and immigrants through a variety of programming and services designed to move our newest neighbors from “surviving” to thriving. 12 & older

We are dedicated to improving the health of the communities we serve through the provision of high quality, affordable, accessible and culturally appropriate care to all individuals regardless of ability to pay. Health Partnership Clinic is committed to serving as a vehicle for collaboration among community partners as a critical aspect of meeting our mission.

Community Support

Let’s show our KC Crossroads community some much needed love! We’ll spend the morning cleaning our streets, handing out cold water to our at-risk neighbors, and praying for our city. This activity is for all ages, but youth must be with a guardian. 

Community Justice

The Giving Garden is a community justice initiative to grow fresh, organic produce. The produce from this garden goes directly to our Resurrection Food Mobile and our Resurrection Food Pantry and be given away as a tangible sign of love to those facing food insecurity. FAMILY FRIENDLY!

Addiction Recovery

Artists Helping the Homeless (AHH) offers transitional and supportive housing programs for men struggling to find shelter often as a result of substance use disorder.   AHH also administers a re-entry program that helps recently incarcerated individuals find housing, employment, and social support services. 16 & Older

Benilde Hall

Our mission is to provide services for treating substance use, mental health, and homelessness so that individuals may return to the community as responsible, employed, and permanently housed contributing members of society.

Creation Care

KC Farm School at Gibbs Road empowers individuals of all ages, ancestries, and abilities
through on-farm, hands-on experiences and vocational education
connecting them to the land and soil, food, community, and opportunity. FAMILY FRIENDLY!

Community Justice

The RPOR Drop-In Center is a safe, non-judgmental place for prostituted women from all backgrounds and races. This serve opportunity will help organize donations received to support this community. This activity is for all ages, but youth must be with a guardian.

Blessings Abound Thrift Store is a Christian not for profit organization called  to serve the metro Kansas City Community by selling and recycling donated merchandise in order to provide aid to people in need.

The new Overland Park Thrift Store location is now open! Hillcrest thrift stores directly support their efforts to to solve homelessness in Kansas City. Hillcrest Transitional Housing offers homeless families, singles and youth a disciplined educational program within a caring, supportive environment. 14 & older
