Due to inclement weather, all daytime in-person programs have been canceled for Thursday, Feb. 9 at each of our locations and the cafe and bookstore at the Leawood location are closed until 5 pm. Evening programs will be held, as scheduled.
We are watching the weather and at this time the Car Show is still on as scheduled for the public, open from 9:00 am – 1:00 pm. We will keep you updated as conditions change.
The Resurrection Hunger Ministry is an umbrella ministry with three distinct areas of focus to best serve those that are food insecure in Kansas City:
Our Hunger Ministry team works to provide supplemental funding to partner pantries throughout the KC area. Our support allows pantries to purchase meat, dairy, and fresh produce for their clients in need. All of this is made possible through donations from within the church, special food drives, and monetary donations. With your help, we are bridging the meal gap for more than 430,000 people in our region.
The Resurrection Overland Park Food Pantry helps bridge the food insecurity gap in our community. It takes 40 volunteer shifts to operate each week and is open Wednesdays. We are blessed to provide nutritious food to over 100 families each week!
Located at our Overland Park Location – 8412 W 95th St, Overland Park, KS 66212.
The pantry is open on Wednesdays between 9am-12pm and 3-7pm.
The FoodMobile provides hungry people in the Kansas City area with fresh, nutritious food and a dignified shopping experience. Volunteers are needed to check-in guests, assist with shopping, drive, and re-stock the FoodMobile between stops.
If you’d like to check out this serving opportunity for the first time or as a one time commitment, email Stephany Newport with your name, phone number, and the shifts you’re available for (some shifts may be full so please list a few if you can). If you’d like to become a recurring volunteer and sign up for regular shifts, please click on the times below to give us more information about available opportunities, trainings, your availability and communication preferences.
Donations in any amount will be used to purchase needed food in bulk or supplemental funding for our pantries to purchase proteins, produce and other items.
How much should I donate? Here is a general guideline of how far your money can go to feeding an average family of 4 when we purchase in bulk:
