There are many vital opportunities for serving at Avenue of Life. We will be helping in their pantry and clothing closets to help families stay fed and warm this winter. 5 & Older
Joy Meadows’s mission is to provide foster families with community, support, housing, and resources so that children in foster care can find stability, healing, and joy. Join us as we take down Christmas decorations, clean up around the property, and get ready for families to visit! Families with children 5+ welcome to serve.
New Creation is a faith based therapeutic community helping men to overcome substance use disorders. Help re-epoxy the floor in the recreation room for the men pursuing their sobriety at New Creation recovery house! All supplies provided. 8 & Older
Uplift Organization is a mobile street outreach for the homeless of Kansas City. We will be sorting donations and doing other small projects around the warehouse. 5 & Older
CBB’s mission is to ensure that homeless, uninsured or otherwise vulnerable members of society retain access to quality medical and mental health care. Medical supplies and hospitality items are distributed to the community throughout the week. This serve opportunity will help prepare donations for recipients receiving medical care. 12 & Older
All skill levels welcome. Work with other volunteers on projects including construction, organization, and clean-up to support our community partners. We will be working at Operation Breakthrough in Kansas City, MO. 16 & Older
reStart exists to end homelessness in Kansas City. For over four decades they have tackled homelessness from all angles of the housing continuum using experience and insight to mobilize teams and partners to address this urgent and growing need. Join us as we paint and refresh the inside walls. 12 & Older
The RPOR Drop-In Center is a safe, non-judgmental place for prostituted women from all backgrounds and races. This serve opportunity will help organize donations received to support this community. 18 & Older.
The mission at Hillcrest Hope is to empower the homeless and working poor to achieve personal independence through transitional housing, accountability, education, and community support. Join us as we serve at their thrift store and assist in organizing their food pantries. 10 & Older
The mission of Lazarus Ministries KC is to offer unlimited compassion while providing for the unmet needs of Kansas City’s urban core. We bring hope and opportunity to those in need and work toward solutions for homelessness and food insecurity. Join us as we serve a meal and assist in the boutique. 18 & Older
The Food Mobile provides hungry people in the Kansas City area with fresh, nutritious food and a dignified shopping experience. Volunteers are needed to check-in guests, assist with shopping, and sack groceries. Great for Families! 10 & Older
Experience the diversity and culture of the Argentine neighborhood by serving at The Hub! You will have an opportunity to support the Community Market (Free Grocery Store) and Clothing Closet Programs, complete a few building and painting projects, and meet several of our neighbors. 12 & Older
Hillcrest Transitional Housing offers homeless families, singles and youth a disciplined educational program within a caring, supportive environment. Hillcrest’s primary objective is to move clients from homelessness to self-sufficiency. Join us in the Thrift Store as we sort, organize and unpack donations. Family Friendly
Kanbe’s Markets aims to redirect over 1 million pounds of food in 2025. Join us to help sort donated produce into four categories: Kanbe’s Healthy Corner Stores (providing fresh, affordable produce to underserved areas), Community Partners (supplying food pantries), Animal Feed (supporting rescue farms), and Compost (for inedible produce). 12 & Older
Hope Faith is a non-denominational, Christian based low-barrier Homelessness Assistance Campus in Greater Kansas City. Join us at Hope Faith as we serve a homemade breakfast to the shelter guests. 16 & Older
At Mission Adelante we strive to provide the best thrift experience by caring at every opportunity. Proceeds from our store go to support the work a Mission Adelante, a local ministry that serves immigrants and refugees from all places. Hope House’s mission is to break the cycle of domestic violence by providing safe refuge and supportive services that educate and empower those impacted by domestic violence. Join us as we completely reorganize the clothing closet! Their closet is available to men, women, and children who are leaving domestic violence situations. 14 & Older
The Starfish Foundation provides community service to those of all ages and abilities, in conjunction with local pantries-food donation coordination, limited case management and resource coordination. Join us as we unload and stock food or assist in tying bags for homeless mats. 5 & Older
Blessings Abound Thrift Store is a Christian not for profit organization called to serve the metro Kansas City Community by selling and recycling donated merchandise in order to provide aid to people in need.12 & older
