Raise the Bar Against Hunger

Host a Protein Bar Drive

Every weekend, Resurrection provides an average of 3,000 protein bars through our Backpacks for Hunger program. These simple snacks ensure that children return to school on Monday mornings fueled, focused, and ready to learn. For many kids, this is the difference between hunger and hope.

How You Can Help

1. Host a Protein Bar Drive

Collect kid-friendly protein bars that are nutritious, filling, and easy for children to enjoy. Great examples include:

Bring your donations to any Resurrection location.

2. Spread the Word

After worship, stop by our table to pick up a packet of door hangers. By distributing these in your neighborhood, you extend the reach of this ministry and invite others to join the cause. Door-hanger packets are available at every Resurrection location.
Consider reaching out digitally through social media. You can also send an email to your neighbors; we've provided a sample, ready-to-use message that you can personalize and send — just click the button below to share ways that others can help.

Why It Matters

For many children in Kansas City, weekends are the hardest part of the week. Without school-provided meals, they may go hungry until Monday. Through Backpacks for Hunger, Resurrection fills that gap, providing essential nutrition and reminding kids that they are not forgotten.

Collecting protein bars throughout the school year ensures that children in our community return to school on Monday mornings fueled, focused, and ready to learn. For many kids, this is the difference between hunger and hope.

Together, let’s Raise the Bar Against Hunger, because no child should have to face Monday morning on an empty stomach.
