Costa Rica Thursday

Help me to better understand what it means to use the resources given to me.

Everyday in Costa Rica, Team Katy Costa Rica (TKCR) begins their day with devotions. It is a time for the team to bond, learn from one another, and grow in faith. TKCR is a small team with only 8 members. The team is also the only group at the Costa Rica Mission Project, which is unusual. Therefore, TKCR has become a family.  As a team, we have had many discussions about our personal strengths and areas of opportunity and those are resources, God-given, that can be shared with others.

Since the team finished the deck yesterday, we tackled a new project, painting a preschool classroom. The classroom walls needed refreshing and TKCR painted one wall teal and the other three white. To the wall opposite the teal one, multi-colored polka dots were added to add a touch of cheer. The room looks great!

Part of the afternoon was spent at the Costa Rica market. It was very much like a farmer’s market in the US with many different vendors, all filled with locally grown and picked fruits and vegetables. There were so many varieties to choose from and so many that are not well known in the US. All vendors were very kind and willing to let us sample their produce.
The day concluded with worship on the new deck with the fire pit blazing and the cross shining in the church with no roof. There was barely a dry eye as communion was received and songs were sung. God has blessed this place and this team with abundant resources, in all their forms.
