Due to weather conditions, all in-person daytime and evening programs have been canceled across the church’s locations for Wednesday, except for the Recovery programs and Food Pantry at Overland Park. Decisions for Thursday daytime programs will correspond with local school district decisions and will be posted on the church’s website.
Scheduled programming has resumed for Thursday, February 13 at all Resurrection locations.
Our first day of serving has been full of adventure. We headed to our service location of Santa Marta. There was a peaceful protest over one of the bridges along the way which allowed us to practice patience and see how peacefully Costa Rican’s disagree. After about an hour wait, we were able to cross.
We arrived at the church in Santa Marta and were divided into groups to help build a personage and Sunday school classrooms. We had groups that worked on concrete, stucco, electrical, hanging drywall, securing window frames, preparing the ground for concrete and preparing metal for construction.
We broke for lunch with the other teams to enjoy some fellowship. We went back to work but our day was cut short with a rain storm. We headed back to the CRMP campus. We enjoyed dinner and devotions. Also some fun games!
We will all sleep well and are looking forward to our second day to serve.
