Honduras - Day 4

6/10/26

Honduras: June 6 - 13, 2026

Today was another full and rewarding day in Honduras. We began our morning with a prayer from Pastor Angie, asking God to guide our work, strengthen our team, and bless the community we are serving. Starting each day in prayer reminds us that while we are here to work and serve, it is God who is ultimately at work through every conversation, every project, and every relationship we build.

After prayer, we continued building on the pilas project. It has been exciting to see the progress being made each day and to know that this work will have a lasting impact on families in the community. As the project takes shape, we are reminded that something as simple as access to water can make a tremendous difference in daily life.

To help keep everyone energized, we made a trip to the pulpiría where we bought Cokes and semitas for the workers. It was a small gesture, but one that was greatly appreciated after a busy morning of labor. These moments of sharing and fellowship often become opportunities to connect, laugh together, and strengthen the friendships being formed throughout the week.

Later, we gathered together for a community lunch. Sharing a meal is always a special time, allowing us to connect with one another, build relationships, and enjoy fellowship together.

In the afternoon, we headed to the local school for Vacation Bible School. The children greeted us with excitement and enthusiasm, and we were eager to share God’s Word with them. Their energy was contagious, and their eagerness to participate made the afternoon especially rewarding.

Our Bible story for the day was about Philip baptizing the Ethiopian man. During our skit, the baptism scene became an instant favorite when the Ethiopian man was splashed with a large cup of water from behind the stage. The children erupted in laughter, and it quickly became one of the most memorable moments of the day. Seeing their joy reminded us that learning about Jesus can be both meaningful and fun.

The children also created necklaces featuring a cross and several colorful beads. Each bead carried a special meaning and helped tell the story of God’s love and salvation. It was wonderful to watch the children proudly wear their creations while learning important biblical truths. Many eagerly shared what each bead represented, demonstrating just how much they had learned.

For our game, the children participated in a relay race that challenged them to search for Bible verses. The activity combined teamwork, energy, and Scripture, and everyone absolutely loved it. Their excitement and determination made the game a huge success, and it was encouraging to see them working together while engaging with God’s Word.

As the day came to a close, we reflected on how God is moving in both big and small ways throughout this trip. Whether through building a pila, sharing a meal, or spending time with children at Vacation Bible School, every interaction provides an opportunity to show Christ’s love.

After a long but fulfilling day of work, ministry, and fun, we returned to our lodging for some much-needed showers and rest. Carlos, our local chef, cooked us another amazing home cooked meal!  We are grateful for all that God is doing through this mission trip and look forward to what tomorrow will bring.
