Day One – The Journey Begins

We gathered at 5 a.m., ready and excited to begin our service trip to Honduras. Though our group was small—just seven of us— four of us are returning for a second time with three newbies. Everyone was full of energy and anticipation for what lay ahead.

Destination 1 – Dallas. The morning flight went smoothly as we relaxed, shared conversation, and enjoyed breakfast together while waiting for our connecting flight to our final destination for the week.

Arrival in Honduras – The flight into Comayagua was  good and our excitement grew in anticipation. After going through immigration and customs, we were warmly greeted by an old friend, Rigo, who had joined us on our last mission trip two years ago. He brought along a new friend, Guillermo, who quickly fit right in with the group.

After loading our bags into Rigo’s truck, we stopped for a late lunch at the airport—tacos and nachos for everyone. The food was delicious and the company even better. Once we arrived at the hotel in Tegucigalpa, we settled into our rooms for a short rest before gathering again for dinner and our evening devotion. The group is looking forward to the trip to the Juan Wesley school on Sunday to meet with students and teachers.
