Malawi: April 23 - May 5, 2026

After two days of travel from Kansas City to Atlanta, then on to Amsterdam and then finally on to Johannesburg, South Africa, our team had a total of 22 hours of time in the air.  We spent the night in Johannesburg on Thursday night and traveled to Lilongwe, Malawi on Friday morning.  After a hour drive via our “Pink Bus” we arrived in Madisi, Malawi and unloaded all our medicines and supplies.
Our team of twelve is made up of three doctors, five nurses, two pharmacists and two team leaders.  After arrival in Madisi we spent time organizing our medicines and supplies and going over the plan for the week.  Last year we saw over 1,700 patients so we spent time creating plans for the upcoming week where we expect to see about the same number of patients.  With the help of several organizations, and many donors, we purchased not only medicines for the patients we will be treating this week but also for medicines we will leave behind with the Malawian doctors who will continue care after we have left.
We closed the day with a team dinner at our hotel and reflected on how grateful we are that Resurrection has supported this mission and that many organizations and donors have supported it too.  The plan for the week is to open a clinic in the local Methodist church here in Madisi on Sunday and then open clinics in four rural villages on Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday of the upcoming week.
Thank you so much to all of you that have supported this medical mission trip.  We look forward to reporting our progress all this week.
