Day 6

11/14/25

Malawi: November 6 - 17, 2025

Day 6

As we wrapped up our on-the-ground presence in Malawi, we visited additional projects that are established and growing through effort and engagement of COR and its members. We noted as a team multiple times that this week held many mountaintop experiences, and this day was no different.

We visited Zoe Empowers in Madisi, which is an organization that provides training and support for those aged 16-19 who are orphaned or vulnerable and are the heads of household for themselves and their siblings. As we entered the Zoe offices, we were greeted with a sign that lists the many groups —multiple sibling groups that co-live with the support of a Zoe advisor—that COR supports, with names such as Grace and We are Happy. After learning much about their program, we visited a group that has been supported by members of our mission team. Ninety children, from 1-19, living together with a group guide, are receiving training, support and guidance to learn vocational and business skills as well as life skills to be able to live independently as a family unit. We were greeted with a sign welcoming us, and the group’s supporter noted: “I never imagined in my wildest dreams that I’d have a child in Malawi and now we have 90!” This was a truly moving morning. We also conducted training on team dynamics and team building with the Opulence team and visited the Opulence offices.

In a wrap up meeting the night before Day 6, we discussed how the many experiences we had this week will impact our lives moving forward. We agree: We are blessed. We are loved. We each are called to bless this world through being the Light of God to others. We find ever more joy, hope, and love by sharing joy, hope and love with others, far and near.

Want to hear more? Ask any of us about this mission experience. We’d LOVE to tell others about what we saw and heard and how others can be a part of COR’s important and needed effort in Malawi.
