Ash Wednesday services at all Resurrection locations will be held on schedule today.
Scheduled programming has resumed for Thursday, February 13 at all Resurrection locations.
Dumela! Today the ladies from Westview Methodist church, Funda Friends, came to celebrate with the preschool and open school children. Funda Friends come once a week to read to the children, do crafts, or sing and dance. For the celebration, the children played with colorful round parachutes and balls. The children would raise and lower the parachute together, trying to keep the balls bouncing on the parachute without letting them bounce off. There was music, a sweet treat for the children, and so much laughter!
After lunch, we learned some self care exercises and stretches. Self care is important, so that we can care for others. I think everyone’s favorite was the nitric oxide dump to keep our blood flowing.
The afternoon was spent with the Aftercare children doing some math problem solving games. The children showed good problem solving skills and collaboration work as they built special cubes, made shapes with toothpicks and learned about palindromes. And of course, there were lots of hugs as we left! The children love to give and receive hugs!
This evening we were invited to share sandwiches and snacks with some representatives from Westview Methodist Church. It was nice to visit with them in a smaller setting. Thank you, Westview!
It was a good day!
