Ash Wednesday services at all Resurrection locations will be held on schedule today.
Scheduled programming has resumed for Thursday, February 13 at all Resurrection locations.
Dumela! It is our next to the last day at Ditshego and it is starting to sink in that it’s almost time to leave our new friends.
One of our favorite times of the day are the morning devotions with the Open School children. They love to sing and dance! We can almost sing along with them in their language of Swazi.
The Ditshego managers met with several from our group to enhance their public speaking and conflict resolution skills. The rest of our team helped the preschool teachers build their computer skills, creating documents and things to decorate the walls of their classrooms.
There was a health and wellness lesson in the morning for the Open School children at the plot, from one of our team members. The students received dignity packs prepared by the Resurrection team and Ditshego staff with toothbrushes, toothpaste, tissues, deodorant, etc. They were very excited to get their bags! She then did a healthy eating lesson for the preschool children at Mooiplaas in the afternoon. The children were fascinated by a pop-up book that was shared with them. Such joy!
There was another math lesson on problem solving, number sense, and collaboration with another group of children in Aftercare at Mooiplaas.
We all felt like we had accomplished a lot by the end of the day. We were very tired, a good tired, by the time we got back to our lodging.
