The best way to start your day is watching a parade of joyful young children walking to Vacation Bible Camp. I’m not sure who was more excited to get started; our young adults leading the camp or the children attending.
Megan, Church of the Resurrection’s Student Ministry Director, wrote the lesson plan about forgiveness. Today’s Bible verse was Ephesians 4:32 “Be kind and compassionate to one another, forgiving each other, just as in

Christ God forgave you.”  This verse reminds us that because Jesus has shown us incredible kindness and forgiveness, we are called to treat others with that same kindness, compassion, and forgiveness every day.

We connected this message to the World Cup by explaining how yellow and red cards are used in soccer when mistakes are made and people could get hurt.  In life, we all make mistakes, too. The amazing thing is that Jesus doesn’t just give us a red card and send us away. Jesus forgives us and invites us back onto His team.

After learning about forgiveness, children played games like Red Light, Green Light, and made crafts. After snacks, we ended our time together in worship with great music and dancing to praise the Lord.
