What a joyous day! We had the honor of attending a celebration for a long time volunteer of both Ditshego and Westview, our partner church.  Ruth came to share a Bible study lesson about peace with the Open School students and was surprised to find it was really a going away party for her. The children and staff shared their love through dance, song, and prayer. It was an emotional experience for everyone!

Afterwards, we were able to visit the new sewing project. With the help of more volunteers and sewing machine donations, women from the Mooiplaas community are invited to come and learn sewing skills. They are making beautiful clothing for themselves and hope to sell future goods. This is such an empowering opportunity for them.

The rest of our day was spent with the students in the after care program. We read stories and played games all afternoon. We laughed and danced together. We are completely exhausted after a full day of fun with our partners and kids.
