Scheduled programming will resume this evening, December 2nd, for all Resurrection locations.
Scheduled programming has resumed for Thursday, February 13 at all Resurrection locations.
Our 4th and final clinic day was held at Nanas Health Center yesterday. and over 500 patients were again seen. The dedication plaque on the clinic wall reads” Nanas Health Clinic is an expression of JESUS CHRIST’S LOVE to the Uganda Community Through The Uganda Counseling and Support Services.” At the 24-hour clinic the services include lab assessments, intravenous therapies, short term stay monitoring along with maternal health services. In progress is the building of a new Maternal Health Hospital where Uganda women can deliver their babies. The new building will include surgical suites for C-sections and other surgical needs. Amazing progress in health care for God’s people is provided here.
Another highlight of the day was our visit to the goat farm. Over 200 goats greeted us along with the team caring for the farm & goats. This “buy to own “ process creates a self-sustainable program to with a special breed of goats that produce more offspring and more meat than other breeds. To purchase a goat, families must save a certain amount in a new account, and when they qualify also receive a stipend. These are the goats that Resurrection folks purchased- to fund the herd that will eventually go to families when they qualify. At the end of our visit, we met the first family to receive their goat and the first offspring (kid). This family has since acquired a second goat!
The focus of UCSS is holistic, providing health and mental health care along with long term sustainability for Uganda people. Gods’ Love & Blessing are apparent everywhere but especially so in the shining brown eyes and brilliant smiles of the people. At our nightly debriefing session Dr. Ronald showed us an amazing video explaining UCSS & the progress since inception 13 years ago. It’s hard to find words to describe the emotions experienced during the serve trip, except that God’s love for his people is apparent everywhere.
