Our annual School Makeover is getting a fresh name and a renewed focus. Welcome to
This year, we’re stepping beyond the walls of a school and into the Argentine neighborhood to serve alongside The Hub – a vibrant, community-centered space built on knowing your neighbors and working together toward real, lasting change. The Hub is more than a building; it’s a place where people come together to access essential resources, build relationships, and create opportunity. Through a community market, clothing pantry, community garden, and a new commercial kitchen, it is helping strengthen and support the neighborhood in meaningful ways.
From June 3–10, we’ll come alongside this work by helping refresh and improve the physical space that makes it all possible. Whether it’s painting, cleaning, landscaping, or light construction, every project plays a part in creating a more welcoming and functional environment for the hundreds of individuals and families served each week – including a diverse and growing worshipping community.
To ensure proper supervision and safety for all participants, the following policy applies to all youth volunteers who sign up with the Volunteer Coordinator or via online registration.
Youth 16 and older may participate unaccompanied in the School Makeover Event Project if they have a Youth Release Form, and both are signed by the parent/guardian of the youth. Releases may not be signed by any other person.
All youth between the ages of 12 and 15 must be accompanied by an adult, with combined release form specified above, completed and signed by their parent or guardian. If an adult other than the parent is bringing a youth volunteer, please have the parent of the youth complete the release in advance.
For safety reasons, no one under the age of 12 may participate in this project or be on the project site.
