Serve in the Community
Each month, we spotlight new community partners, offering you the opportunity to serve alongside them and learn about the vital work they’re doing in the Kansas City area. Our events are designed to be easy, low-commitment ways to make a meaningful difference in the lives of your neighbors. Whether you try something new or return to a familiar favorite, you’ll experience the joy and impact of becoming God’s hands and feet right here in our city.
Avenue of Life
Avenue of Life is an amazing organization whose mission is to mobilize our community to equip and empower low-income individuals and families to be self-sustained and independent. Volunteers will be assisting with our giveaway event, which includes serving breakfast, distributing clothing, and item from our food pantry to the community. Family Friendly!
Blessings Abound
Blessings Abound Thrift Store is a Christian not for profit organization called to serve the metro Kansas City Community by selling and recycling donated merchandise in order to provide aid to people in need. We will assist in setting up the NEW LOCATION! 12 & older
The Hub Argentine
The Hub provides resources for the Argentine and Wyandotte County communities including a community market, clothing closet, community garden, and after school program. Get ready to roll up your sleeves and join us for a morning of working in Community Market (free grocery store) and Community Garden and prepping our physical space for all of our summer activities. 8 & Older
Refugee
Join us for a sunny morning of outdoor beautification as we spruce up the children’s garden and playground at Della Lamb! We’ll be planting flowers and vegetables, pulling weeds, and tidying up spaces where kids learn and play. This is a wonderful opportunity to support families in Della Lamb’s Immigration/Refugee and Early Childhood Education programs. 10 & Older
Mission Adelante
Volunteer with Mission Adelante Thrift! Lend a hand by sorting, stocking, tagging, and more. Your time and effort as a volunteer directly support this important work and help strengthen our shared community. Proceeds at this store fund the important work they do within immigration and refugee support work in our community. 12 & Older
Woodland ELC
Woodland Early Learning Center is a historic building in downtown Kansas City that serves 200 preschool children and their families through the Head Start Program. Come be a part of our team as we lend a hand with organizing the clothing closet or tidying up the school grounds with some weeding and planting! 12 & Older
KVC Olathe
KVC helps over 30000 people annually through family preservation, family reunification, outpatient therapy, foster care, and adoption. Come help us, help them! We will be doing some organizing in their warehouse that freely gives to families in need. 7 & Older
Homelessness
Hillcrest serves over 1,020 children, individuals, and families each year through its five residential sites in Johnson and Wyandotte Counties in Kansas and Jackson County in Missouri. Proceeds from Hillcrest Thrift Stores directly support their Housing Program. 14 & Older
Mercy and Truth Healthcare Ministry
The mission of Mercy and Truth Healthcare Ministry is to provide healthcare to the uninsured and underserved people of our community and world through Christian service. This Serve Saturday we will help paint and brighten up the space, making it look fresh and welcoming! 12 & Older
Homeless
Serve with Us at the Shelter KC Women’s Center. Join us as we spend meaningful time with a group of women courageously working to rebuild their lives. We’ll be serving lunch, enjoying games with prizes, and sharing a brief time of devotion together. The Women’s Center supports women experiencing homelessness, many of whom have faced substance abuse and mental health challenges. 18 & Older
Healthcare
The mission of Care Beyond the Blvd is that the homeless, uninsured, or otherwise vulnerable members of society have access to quality medical and mental health care despite adverse financial or social circumstances. 10 & Older
Center of Grace
Center of Grace is a community of diverse people from unique backgrounds spanning class, race, culture, and language. Come help out around the Center! We have projects of all varieties, including helping sort in the free store, working in the kitchen, or working outside. There’s always something helpful to do! 8 & Older
A Turning Point
A Turning Point’s mission is to support families by providing basic needs & education equipping them for self-sufficiency. A Turning Point provides a food pantry, clothes closet, academy, community meals, and an outreach for the unhoused. 13 & Older
Helping Hands
All skill levels welcome. Work with other volunteers on projects including construction, organization, and clean-up to support our community partners. 16 & Older
Resurrection Mission Center
Our Mission Center is home to our Food Mobile, Book mobile, Bed Ministry, and Resurrection’s Truck Ministry. This Serve Saturday we will assemble sack lunches that we distribute through our Food Mobile and community partners to our homeless community. 10 & Older
Resurrection West
Join us at Resurrection West for World Random Acts of Kindness Day! Families are invited to stop by and pick up materials for a fun and meaningful scavenger hunt, designed to spread kindness throughout our community! You’ll work with your family or small group to complete small but impactful acts of generosity, bringing joy to others and sharing God’s love in simple, powerful ways! Let’s work together to make Kansas City look a little more like the Kingdom of God! Family Friendly!

Relentless Pursuit Outreach and Recovery (RPOR) is a community-centered, faith-based organization dedicated to eradicating human trafficking. Join us as we help with worksite clean-up and sort donations. 18 & Older

The mission of Lazarus Ministries KC is to offer unlimited compassion while providing for the unmet needs of Kansas City’s urban core. We bring hope and opportunity to those in need and work toward solutions for homelessness and food insecurity. 12 & Older (12-15 must be accompanied by an adult)

Cross-lines serves as a safety net for the community by providing direct assistance to at-risk families, the elderly, and single individuals struggling to make ends meet. We will be serving in Cross-lines’ no-cost grocery store restocking, cleaning, and preparing site for future deliveries. 12 & Older

With our goal to redirect Kanbe’s Markets invites you to join us as we help sort donated produce into their four redirection tiers: Kanbe’s Healthy Corner Stores – bringing fresh, affordable produce to underserved areas. Community Partners — providing fresh produce to over 40 local food pantries for neighbors in need. Animal Feed — supplying animal feed to nonprofit rescue farms. Compost – what isn’t fit for human or animal consumption. 12 & Older

Family Resource Center
The mission of the Family Resource Center is to provide solutions to address the needs of working/disabled individuals, families and senior citizens facing hardships due to poverty, low income, homelessness and food insecurity. We will be helping in the food pantry, packing produce boxes for families in need, and working in the cafe. Family Friendly!

Hillcrest
Join us at the Hillcrest Transitional Living KCK Campus as we make a BIG Difference for their Youth Participants and Adult 90 Day residents. We’ll be rolling up our sleeves to beautify the property, plant flowers, lay mulch, clean apartments, clean and organize 2 food pantry spaces, and bless their residents and our volunteers with a hamburger cookout! 7 & Older
Project Eagle
Project Eagle, one of our pre-k partner schools, is committed to the young children in Wyandotte County, Kansas. They have offered services in this community for more than 35 years. Thier programs focus on the health and well-being of pregnant women and young children and aim to prepare children, engage families and promote excellence in the broader field of early childhood education. We will help plant and organize their summer garden. 12 & Older
Hunger
Assist the farm in a variety of indoor and outdoor fun in the soil activities! Come learn about all of the ways KC Farm School is fighting food injustice and making Kansas City look more like the Kingdom of God! No experience required, all ages welcome.
Hope Faith
Hope Faith is a non-denominational, Christian based low-barrier Homelessness Assistance Campus in Greater Kansas City. Join us at Hope Faith as we serve a homemade breakfast to the shelter guests. 16 & Older
Lee's Summit Social Services
This holiday season, help spread joy by volunteering with Lee’s Summit Social Services! They need our support to organize their pantry and clothing shop, ensuring families in need can access essentials during this special time of year. Your time and effort will make a big difference as they prepare to serve the community throughout the holiday season. Come lend a hand and help make the holidays brighter for those in need!
Foster/Adopt
Joy Meadows hosts camps, fun weekend events, and hundreds of therapy appointments and meetings for kids and their families who are part of the foster care system. Help us harvest fresh fruits and veggies from the garden so when they visit, they have nutritious treats to take home with them. 6 & Older
Refugee
Global FC uses soccer as a vehicle for transformative impact.
We support underserved youth, many of which come from refuge and immigrant families, with the tools to overcome obstacles to success by providing resources, opportunities, and relationships towards a brighter future.
Restart
Restart exists to end homelessness in Kansas City, working with unsheltered youth, families, men, women, and veterans. Join us at reStart as we make cookies for their community meals.
Restore
ReStore generates funds that support our work with local families in need of a safe, decent, and affordable place to call home. Sorting donations, taking inventory, and assisting customers, are some examples of group volunteering opportunities in Kansas City that help us increase our impact.
Partner Schools
Mission: To support the social, emotional and reading skills that are foundational to student success by advancing our literacy platform and mobilizing community volunteers. 12 & Older
Uplift
Three nights a week, Uplift takes four vans loaded with food, clothing, and other essential supplies out to our KC homeless, typically serving 250-400 people each night. Join in as we roll up our sleeves sorting donations and tackling various projects within the warehouse. These sorting sessions are the heartbeat of Uplift’s mission. 10 & Older
Resurrection Spring Hill
Resurrection Spring Hill. Join us as we clean, paint, and freshen up our new location before opening the doors in September. 14 & older
Resurrection Leawood
Bring your friends and family to help assemble Kindergarten readiness kits. The activities and materials in the kits are specifically designed to help preschoolers with readiness skills and development such as language and literacy, math, fine motor, and more. 12 & Older
Health Partnership Clinic
Health Partnership Clinic offers a range of medical, dental and behavioral health services through four clinics and at sites throughout the community. They strive to help provide care for individuals without insurance or experiencing homelessness. 12 & Older
Homelessness
Mother’s Refuge has a mission to shelter and educate homeless, pregnant and parenting young women. They provide comprehensive services that empower them to make successful life decisions for themselves and their babies. Join us as we help address current needs in the shelter and communal spaces.
Community Support
Let’s show our KC Crossroads community some much needed love! We’ll spend the morning cleaning our streets, handing out cold water to our at-risk neighbors, and praying for our city. This activity is for all ages, but youth must be with a guardian.
Hillcrest Hope
Hillcrest Hope empowers the unhoused and working poor to achieve personal independence through transitional housing, accountability, education, and community support. Join at Hillcrest Hope Thrift Store in Liberty as we roll up our sleeves and assist, serve, sort, clean, and much more to bless the important work they do. 12 & Older

Serve With Resurrection Ministries

From filling backpacks and preparing sack lunches to working with our Helping Hands construction teams, there are monthly opportunities to serve.
