Pet Ministry

Resurrection Pet Ministry

The mission of the Pet Ministry is to support Resurrection and our community through educational programs, pet and animal resources, veterinary care financial support, therapy pets, grief and pet loss support, and comfort and care for people and animals.

Our History

The Pet Ministry was established in 2016 by two members, Connection and Care Minister Kathy O’Dowd and volunteer Linda Haney, who share a passion for pets and people. The two members formed a leadership team and launched the ministry in June 2016 during a sermon series entitled “The Steadfast Love of Dogs and God – Spiritual Lessons our Four-Legged Friends Teach Us.”

Financial Assistance
Thanks to a grant from the Resurrection Foundation, we were able to initially offer financial assistance for those in need to help pay for healthcare costs for their pets. This was made possible through the generosity of a legacy gift from a donor. That funding has been depleted, but through generous donations, we are able to continue to offer financial support to pets in need.  Gifts to Resurrection can be designated to support the Pet Ministry.
