Featured Event

NAMI (National Alliance on Mental Illness) Johnson County, presenting:

Voices of Experience:
Understanding Psychosis

Thursday, July 30 | Resurrection Leawood Foundry
Food & Fellowship: 5 - 6 PM | Event: 6 - 6:45 PM

This community panel discussion will explore psychosis through the perspectives of individuals with lived experience, family members, and mental health professionals. Panelists will share personal stories, discuss pathways to recovery, and provide insight into the challenges and hope that can exist alongside psychosis.

The event will include conversation around treatment approaches, navigating support systems, stigma, family impact, and the role of compassionate care. Attendees will hear from a psychiatrist on clinical approaches and treatment options, a CIT trained police officer skilled in navigating critical intervention, and individuals and families with firsthand experience living with psychosis.

Whether you are personally impacted, supporting a loved one, working in mental health, or hoping to learn more, this event aims to foster understanding, connection, and hope through honest conversation and shared experience.

Resurrection Recovery Resources

Recovery Curriculum

This course walks you through the 12 steps and encourages community and faith. We take a biblical approach to the Twelve Steps with stories and characters from the old and New Testament with a pictorial look at the Resurrection Stained Glass Window. Understand the meaning of surrender, making amends, how to take an inventory, what is prayer and meditation and how to lead your own 12-step study. This guide can be done online in the Fall and Spring with our support groups or one on one with a sponsor.

Conversations

Past Events from Resurrection Recovery

“A Conversation of Hope,” is an inspiring event featuring Healing House founder Bobbi Jo Reed. With over 29 years of sobriety and a powerful story of transformation, Reed has dedicated her life to helping others overcome addiction, establishing a network of recovery homes that have served more than 14,000 individuals in Kansas City. Her remarkable journey, chronicled in the documentary Bobbi Jo: Under the Influence, exemplifies the power of hope and second chances.

This event was part of our weekly Thursday Care Night programming.
