Volunteer Opportunities

Family Night Out Volunteers
Volunteers are paired with a participant with special needs or a sibling for a themed evening with dinner, crafts, games and activities. There are also opportunities to help in the kitchen or with crafts and activities. Available monthly on a Saturday evening at Resurrection Leawood and Resurrection West.

Angel Care Support Volunteers
Angel Care Support volunteers provide direct support for a child or student with special needs while they attend Resurrection Kids or Resurrection Students programming with their typical peers; or help in the Angel Care sensory room for participants of all ages needing specialty care. Available on Sundays at 9 am or 11 am, and Wednesday evenings at all Resurrection locations.

Sunday Group Volunteers
Sunday Group volunteers join in fellowship with students and adults with special needs as they engage in worship and an adapted Bible lesson. Volunteers are welcome to lead the group lesson or simply join for engagement and fellowship with participants. Available on Sundays at 11 am or 5 pm at Resurrection Leawood.

Drama Club Volunteers
Drama Club volunteers help to engage students and adults with special needs in the performing arts and theater during weekly rehearsals as well as various productions. Available Monday evenings at Resurrection Leawood.

Sonflower Ringers Volunteers
Sonflower Ringers volunteers help assist the inclusive hand bell choir composed of adults with special needs during the weekly rehearsals and various productions. Available Sundays at Resurrection Leawood.

Sonflower Bakery volunteers assist adults with special needs in the bakery to make baked goods. Available Monday through Friday at Resurrection Leawood.

Resurrection Adult Learning Program volunteers join the group of adults with autism as they participate in various activities. Available at Resurrection Overland Park.

Sonflower Adult Learning Program volunteers join the group of adults with special needs as they participate in various activities, including art, gardening, book club, drama, yoga. Available Monday through Friday at Resurrection Leawood.

Are you interested in babysitting or being a care provider for a child, youth or adult with special needs? One of the biggest asks by our families is for quality care providers – whether it be for an occasional night out, after school care, transportation to/from events, or just a friend to hang out with!
